Online AT trainings For Teachers and Para-Professionals

The IDB Tech Team will be hosting a webinar for teachers, para-professionals and anyone interested in learning about assistive technology and how it can benfit blind students. We will hold these webinars on the third Wednesday of every month from 3:00 pm to 4:00 in our Talking Communities classroom. We will also record these webinars so that those who cannot attend can view them at their convenience.

In May, our topic was the accessibility of the new Kindle Fire tablet and an overview of Talkback for Android phones. You can view the recording below.

On April 20th, the topic was NVDA Basics. NVDA is a free, open-source screen reader for Windows that is rapidly gaining in popularity due to its cost and feature set. To learn more about the NVDA project, visit nvaccess.org/ Here is the recording of this webinar.

For the March event, we we recorded the vendor demonstration that was held at IDB during the regularly scheduled webinar time. View the video below.

Our topic for February was “Using VoiceOver and Zoom on the Mac.” Each month will have a different topic and there will be time for questions at the end of each presentation.
