Advocacy: American Council of the Blind

Primary Tasks

    Secondary Tasks

The American Council of the Blind was founded in 1961 in Kansas City. The ACB was formed by former members of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). These members were not in agreement with the policies and actions of the NFB, and decided to form their own organization. For a brief history on this split from the ACB's perspective, please visit http://www.acb.org/node/17

The ACB has affiliates in various states throughout the nation.  Please follow this link to learn more about the Iowa affiliate, the Iowa Council of the United Blind.
