On Monday, February 3, Sarah Willeford became the new Director of IDB's Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.
Sarah earned her master's degree in Library Science from Emporia State University in December of 2002 and received her B.S. degree in Library Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1998. She is the President of the Iowa Library Association and she is a member of the State Library Services Advisory Panel. Additionally, Sarah has earned her State of Iowa Librarian Certification Level VI. She directed the Kirkendall Public Library in Ankeny from 2010 to September of 2013 and was the Assistant Director from 2009 to 2010. Sarah has also served as the Assistant Administrator of the Central Iowa Library Service area and was the Director of the Lied Public Library in Clarinda for 6 years.
Sarah brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the Library and we are happy to welcome her to the agency.
