Meet IDB's newest staff member, Helen Stevens. She has been hired as the Rehabilitation Technology Specialist for the Independent Living program. Helen has worked for Blindness: Learning In New Dimensions, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota since January of 2013. She provided students with training in the areas of adaptive technology as well as Braille and she also served as the Network Administrator. Helen earned her national certification in Literary Braille in 2013, and she has obtained certifications in a variety of computer applications. Helen earned her BA from Harvard in December of 2011, and she completed a variety of internships in the field of blindness rehabilitation while pursuing her degree. Helen is bright, energetic, and she will provide outstanding services to blind Iowans. Helen began work at IDB on September 15.  Please join us in welcoming her to the agency.
