The staff of the Iowa Department for the Blind continues to grow with the addition of a new employee at the beginning of the new year.
Anna Trotman joined the staff of the Iowa Department for the Blind on January 5, 2015. She will be the new Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor serving northwest Iowa. Anna is a 2014 graduate of the Louisiana Center for the Blind which she attended after earning a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Alabama in 2011. Anna earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006. She completed her graduate school internship with the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. Anna also has experience working as an Employment Specialist Assistant with Easter Seals and as a Braille Teaching Instructor with the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. In May of 2014, Anna earned the National Certification in Literary Braille. Anna brings with her a commitment and passion for helping blind individuals become independent and employed.
