Staff from the Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB) will join technology vendors and local service providers to bring the continuing series of vision loss resource fairs to Sioux City, Iowa on October 22, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The event will take place at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Corporate College (CCO) Building, Room B174, 4647 Stone Ave in Sioux City. This will be the fifth vision loss resource fair presented in Iowa this year. Events have already been held in Ottumwa, Iowa City, Des Moines, and Council Bluffs. They are an excellent opportunity to meet in person with these representatives, keep up to date on helpful products and services, and to learn how to make a positive response to vision loss.
Useful information, tips and techniques, and resources to help those experiencing vision loss to continue working and living independently will include:
The event is free and open to the public and is not only for those persons experiencing vision loss. Family members, friends, service providers, and interested area residents are encouraged to attend, too.
