Braille at the Pappajohn Sculpture Park
Braille has been incorporated into the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in downtown Des Moines to give blind and visually impaired visitors an idea of what art is on display. The Braille is placed on placards that describe the 24 large sculptures that make up the two-block park, which stretches from 13th to 15 streets between Grand and Locust and opened in September 2009.

50 Years of Opportunity
What a full and fun-filled weekend at the Iowa Dept. for the Blind Oct. 30 & 31. We had a great turnout for our Open House, client speaker's panel and awards ceremony on Friday, and also at Saturday's Public Transit Forum and the Alumni Banquet.
