Block 4 Recap

The final block of our Leadership Education Advocacy Program was filled with engaging and memorable activities, providing students with the opportunity to apply their skills in new ways. During this block, they enjoyed a variety of fun learning activities, including candle making, bingo night, laser tag, and a dinner outing to Olive Garden. As the pace of the week slowed, students were able to unwind by organizing a movie night, taking an evening walk to Hy-Vee for ice cream, and independently managing their assigned duties.

A major highlight of the block was preparing for Family Day. Students played a key role in organizing and contributing to the celebratory meal, proudly sharing their work and accomplishments with visiting family members. It was a meaningful way to wrap up the program, allowing everyone to showcase the skills they had developed throughout the summer!

Students also had the opportunity to reflect on their summer experience—discussing shared and personal growth, new knowledge, and practical skills they plan to carry into the upcoming school year. Many also expressed a renewed commitment to being more active and present in their daily lives at home.
